He was elected Consol in 59 BCE the next year appointed govenor of Rome. Julius Caesars Dictator era started at 47 and ended 44. Julius Caesar had such a powerful army when defeating Pompeys army he fled to Egypt. Then he followed him to Egypt to meet him man to man but when he arrived the King of Egypt, Ptomeley the 13th, already killed him.
